The Jellyfish

A suspended showpiece, a luminous bell over frilled oral arms and six to seven feet of trailing tentacles.

The piece

It hangs from a tree, a beam, or our own bamboo tripod over a dance floor or lounge. Programmable color and animation, built and tested on the Big Island.

Hangs A 6½ ft bell hung high, with frilled oral arms and tentacles trailing about 6 ft 8 in below. Our tripod stands about 15 ft.

Footprint On the tripod, plan a clear ~20 ft circle; on a tree or beam, just the lounge beneath.

Where can it hang?

From a tree, a beam, or our own bamboo tripod, over a dance floor, lounge, or entrance. We run a rigging consult and handle the install. For a tree or beam, we confirm it can safely hold the bell's weight before we hang anything.

How much space does the tripod setup need?

On our bamboo tripod it stands about 15 ft tall with roughly a 20 ft footprint. Plan on a clear circle about 20 ft across. When it hangs from a tree or beam, the footprint is just the lounge beneath.

What about power and wind?

It runs off a standard 120V outlet, or our portable battery for off-grid sites. It's rain-resistant, and for safety we lower it if wind reaches about 23 mph (20 knots). We watch the forecast with you in the days before.

Can you match our event colors?

Yes. Color and animation are fully programmable, from a calm blue drift to full rainbow, or your own palette. Tell us your vibe →

Can it come to Oʻahu, Maui or Kauaʻi?

Yes, by arrangement. It lives on the Big Island, but it can travel. Inter-island freight and crew travel are added to the quote, and we plan the dates with you so there’s time to ship, set up and bring it home.

Can we add sound?

Yes. We supply festival-grade sound built around BASSBOSS subwoofers through our production partners, and booking it with the Jellyfish is one package and one quote. The Jellyfish pairs best with our larger systems: hung over the dance floor with full-range speakers and subwoofers underneath. Smaller setups with wireless mics and a DJ-ready mixer work well for weddings. See the sound options.
